Tense can be defined as that form of a Verb which shows the time and the state of an action or event.
In this tense the Verb shows that the action is mentioned as incomplete or continuous, that is, as still going on.
اردو میں پہچان: اردو میں فقرے کے آخر میں "رہا ہے، رہی ہے، رہا ہوں، رہے ہیں" وغیرہ آتا ہے۔
مثبت فقرات: میں کھانا کھا رہا ہوں۔ وہ چائے پی رہی ہے۔ وہ سکول جارہے ہیں۔
منفی فقرات: میں کھانا نہیں کھارہا ہوں ۔ وہ چائے نہیں پیرہی ہے ۔ وہ سکول نہیں جارہے ہیں۔
سوالیہ فقرات: کیا میں کھانا کھارہا ہوں ؟ کیا وہ چائے پی رہی ہے ؟ کیا وہ سکول جارہے ہیں؟
منفی سوالیہ فقرات: کیا میں کھانا نہیں کھارہا ہوں ؟ کیا وہ چائے نہیں پی رہی ہے؟ کیا وہ سکول نہیں جاارہے ہیں؟
عملی طور پر فقرات بنانے کا طریقہ: نیچے دئیے گے ہر کالم میں فاعل کے مطابق امدادی فعل دئیے گئے ہیں۔
Structure
مثبت یا سادہ فقرات/Positive or Simple Sentences
Subject (فاعل) + is/am/are + First form of verb+ing + Object.
He/She/It واحد اسم is playing soccer.
I am playing soccer.
We/You/They/ جمع اسم are playing soccer.
Negative Sentences/منفی فقرات
Subject (فاعل) + is/am/are + not + First form of verb+ing + Object.
He/She/It واحد اسم is not playing soccer.
I am not playing soccer.
We/You/They/ جمع اسم are not playing soccer.
Interrogative Sentences/سوالیہ فقرات
Is/Am/Are Subject + (فاعل) + First form of verb+ing + Object?
Is he/she/It واحد اسم playing soccer?
Am I playing soccer?
Are we/you/they/جمع اسم playing soccer?
Interrogative + Negative Sentences/سوالیہ + منفی فقرات

Use ( استعمال)
1۔ حال یا موجودہ وقت میں کام کے ہونے یا جاری رہنے کیلئے۔
For work that is continuous in present time.
i. He is writing a poem.
ii. She is striving for the best.
2۔ محدور عرصہ میں کام کے ہونے کیلئے۔
Work that will be completed in short period of time.
i. I am reading “Lord of Lies” these days.
ii. He is taking examination nowadays.
3۔ آنے والے وقت میں کام کے ہونے کیلئے۔
For work that is in near future.
i. She is going to Karachi tomorrow.
ii. We are attending the function tonight.
4۔ پختہ عادات کیلئے۔
For concrete habits.
i. Adil is reading novel all the time.
ii. Some students are all the time watching television.
5۔ رائج الوقت رجحان کے اظہار کیلئے۔
To show the present trends.
i. Fuel price is rising constantly.
ii. Internet banking is growing rapidly.
