ESSAY:
The illegal transportation of human beings from one place to another (usually from one country to another) without their wish for the purpose of forced labour or sexual exploitation is called the human trafficking. It is one of the top most organized crimes in the world after dealing of narcotics and arms. It has become a menace rather a global mafia that has gripped the economically backward countries in its strong hold. They had to work in very harsh and unfavourable conditions. It is a very pathetic fact that these victims are treated inhumanely there. They are neither given any wages nor any other facilities like clothes, shelter etc. They had to work from dawn to dusk for meager amount of food that keeps their hunger never increasing.
It is commonly referred to as"modern day slavery". It is illegal trade of human beings for forced labour or for exploitation. Men, women and young children living in poverty are the ones who usually fall in the trap of the traffickers.
Poverty, unemployment, illiteracy and many other issues are the major causes of human trafficking. Poverty is one of the leading causes of human trafficking. It has been documented that poverty leads to a lack of education. Trafficking is inextricably linked to poverty. Wherever economic hardship prevails, there will be those destitute enough to enter into the fraudulent employment schemes that are the most common intake systems in the world of trafficking. Every year a lot of Pakistani youngsters have been trafficked to other countries by the agents especially to the Middle East countries like Oman, Bahrain, Qatar, Iran and U.A.E quite ironically, for a promising and prosperous future, they spent a considerable amount of money to enter these countries because they felt as if their future in Pakistan were very dark. It is an established fact that many people from India and Pakistan leave their country for better future.
Many governments have started anti-trafficking programmes to curb this menace. Millions of dollars were provided to organizations all over the world to provide programs so human trafficking can be fought. The programs contribute on informing people the dangers of trafficking and strengthening the numbers of non-government organizations. The U.S. has assisted countries to enact anti-trafficking legislation, trained law enforcement officials, prosecutors, border guards and judicial officers on detecting, investigating and prosecuting traffickers and protecting victims and provided start-up equipment for new anti-trafficking police units.
In conclusion, we can assertively say that Human Trafficking is a stigma on the face of humanity. It has ruined countless lives throughout the world. The most gruesome fact is that many people who are trafficked never return. They either die due to exertion or are killed in their attempt to escape. It is now the duty of the government officials and law enforcement agencies to take heed of this serious issue. The government and welfare organizations should create enough employment opportunities so that the jobless would feel themselves economically secure. It is the only way that they should never be deceived by these human traffickers.
