Nowadays, life in a big city has become very difficult and complicated but an average citizen in a big city enjoys many facilities. He has all the facilities of life. For instance: better education for his children, medical aid when he falls ill, quick means of transport, amusement parks, cinemas and theaters, better communication systems, social contact with cultured people and more opportunities of better jobs.
Life in a big city is always enjoyable and secure as compared with life in a village. In cities, we can have the best kind of education provided to our children but only if we have money and resources. Likewise, we can get the latest medical treatment on the strength of money. We can promote our trade and set up factories with our own money. Modern cities are seats of culture and civilization. An ambitious person can win recognition only to live in a big city. The evening and night hours in a big city have their multifarious activities and enjoyments for city people and visitors. In the bright, dazzling light of electric bulbs and tubes, we can see continuous streams of cars, buses, rickshaws and motorcycles playing on the roads.
Apart from these all advantages of life in a big city, there are many disadvantages of living in a big city. In a big city the atmosphere is always heavy with smoke. Most of the people live in unhealthy surroundings, in factories and workshops. Cinemas, theaters and parks are the breeding places of vice and corruption. In village life we have no such temptations. In cities people are self-sufficient, hence selfish. They do not know the sorrows and joys of their neighbors.

A big city offers us many social, economical and political problems which make our life very hard and tough. The first problem which we come across in a big city is uncontrolled growth of population. This has generated the traffic problem. The traffic problem in a big city has gone beyond proportion. The traffic jams in a big city are a daily occurrence. Traffic jams take place at any moment of day and night. The traffic creates hurdles in the easy flow of daily life. Traffic jams make the march of life slow and unsteady. Men and women going to their place of work are at once halted. They do not reach their offices in time. The children are delayed to reach the school. The patients do not get medical aid in time.
In spite of all these disadvantages, life in a big city is always more enjoyable and pleasurable. It is variegated and interesting. In big city, almost all kinds of facilities are available.
