Letter to the Chairman WAPDA for providing street lights.

The Chairman,

Subject : Provision of street lights in Defense Colony

Sir,

I have to state that ours is a resettlement colony having come into existence about four years ago. Although local administration has taken a number of steps to provide other civic amenities like construction of roads and schools, supply of drinking water etc. but street lights have not been provided so far. At night all the streets are dark because there is no street lightening in our locality.

The need for street lights in our colony has been repeatedly brought to the notice of WAPDA authorities by the representatives of the locality and some spade work was also carried out about two years back but our colony still remained without street lights. As already stated, ours is a resettlement colony inhabited mostly by poor people, we cannot afford to have our own lights in front of our houses. The total darkness in the locality besides causing inconvenience to the residents is resulting in thefts and burglaries. Many accidents have taken place due to the darkness. People especially children fall into the open and uncovered main holes because their covers have been removed by the thieves ir addicts. Sometimes it is difficult fir travelers to see the ditches and speed-breakers and it is not possible at night to travel safely in this area.

I would, therefore, earnestly request you to kindly look into the matter seriously and take immediate steps for providing street lights in this colony.

An early action will be greatly appreciated.

Yours faithfully,

X.Y.Z.
