Subject : Increasing street crimes / Worsening law and order situation

Sir, 

I would like to to express my views through the column of your esteemed paper on the increasing street crimes and worsening law and order situation.

I live in the street which is quite close to the bus stand. The street is crowded most of the time during the day. All kinds of passengers, workers and noisy people walk through it. At times, groups of people begin fighting and hitting one another. This disturbs the people resting and the students studying in their homes.

There is only one policeman on duty at the bus stand and he us sometimes absent. There is a need to have at least two policemen on duty in and around oue street. These policemen should check the noisy and troublesome people and stop them from gathering in groups and fighting.

The streets in this area are seriously dangerous at night for lonely men and women. Just a week earlier two motorcyclists took away a woman's purse by force at 11 at night. Three days earlier a man driving a rickshaw was also robbed in the street at 10:00 pm. It is necessary to have armed policemen with fast vehicles on duty at night. They will catch robbers and also terrorists in action. The rising street crimes will thus be checked a great deal.

Here I hope that may this letter published in your esteemed newspaper will certainly draw the attention of the higher authorities. I do hope that necessary steps will be taken by the official authorities at their prior basis for making our locality worth living once again.
